Are These Drone/UFO Sightings a Psyop to Distract People from Luigi Mangione?
People love mysteries. They want to believe that we never landed on the moon, that the pyramids were built by aliens, that Hitler fled to Argentina, that the Earth is flat, and countless other theories. However, these conspiracy theories and mysteries can also serve as tools for those in power to exert control over their citizens.
As you probably know, there was an incident in New York City on December 4, 2024. A gunman named Luigi Mangione killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Bryan Thompson on the street. On December 9, he was arrested in a McDonald's while having his last Happy Meal. The internet and people worldwide rallied in support of the assassin. Many bad things about the health insurance company came to light. The healthcare industry faced intense criticism and scrutiny for its treatment of people. It was revealed that UnitedHealthcare denies more claims than other insurers.
Conservative YouTubers like Ben Shapiro were canceled by their own fans for siding with the CEO. Shapiro called Luigi’s supporters "violent communists," likening them to Maoists and Hamas sympathizers—comments that many found absurd. The killing of Bryan Thompson received more attention than the fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, marking the end of the decade-long civil war between the rebels and the Assad regime.
Luigi Mangione, the assassin of the CEO, was celebrated as a hero. Then, news of mysterious drone sightings abruptly took center stage. It felt like an attempt to divert attention to the new "current thing," overshadowing the story of Luigi Mangione. Luigi’s actions had brought to light the real issues within America, but soon after, public focus was redirected.
I might sound like a conspiracy theorist, but the pattern seems obvious. In a few weeks, there will likely be another major news story that shifts attention away from these UFO sightings—and Luigi Mangione will be forgotten along with them.
